We are extremely excited to announce that Madison Genesis has been confirmed for the inaugural Tour de Yorkshire. The team will be lining up in Bridlington on May 1st ready for three days of the finest roads that Yorkshire has to offer against top UCI World Tour teams such as: Team Sky, BMC Racing, LottoNL-Jumbo and Team Giant-Alpecin.
The new 2.1 Europe Tour world-class cycle race take place across Yorkshire, a direct legacy of the Yorkshire Grand Départ of the 2014 Tour de France. With stages sweeping across the moors and into the dales, the spectacular route will follow many of the same roads used in the last year's opening of the Tour de France and also parts of the county the original Grand Départ did not cover.
Team Manager Roger Hammond
"I'm delighted and honoured that we have been selected for the inaugural Tour De Yorkshire. As a British based team we watched the amazing events of the Tour de France depart in Yorkshire last year with envy and to be given the chance to be part of the ongoing legacy is a dream come true for us. It's not very often as a rider or team you get to race a world class event on home roads with the fantastic support we saw in Yorkshire last year. We are extremely excited and are looking forward to making the most of this opportunity."
