Tobyn Horton sprinted to second as Aberdeen hosted round three of the 2018 Tour Series.
Horton was part of a move that went clear after 15 minutes of racing and what started as a group of five, increased to seven members before the race was over.
As their lead increased to over a minute, the race-winning move was assured. An cruel uphill finish saw Horton place second for the second time in three rounds.
Behind, a fast night of racing had reduced the peloton to less than 20 riders. Neil van der Ploeg, Johnny McEvoy and Rich Handley were all in attendance.
Neil van der Ploeg even made his own move late in the race, forming a splinter group and placing himself XX
However, this would not be enough to take the team win on the night and Madison Genesis slipped to second in the series standings, one point behind leaders JLT Condor.
Racing resumes on Tuesday May 22, with a double-header in Durham, where riders will take on a cobbled hill climb, followed by the traditional circuit race.
