Madison Genesis fought tough competition at the second double-header of the 2018 Tour Series, as Stevenage hosted round six.
Racing began with a team time trial, with riders facing two laps of the oval course. The five-man team of Rich Handley, Johnny McEvoy, George Pym, Connor Swift and Neil van der Ploeg stopped the clock at 2.20.463.
That was good enough for third place, a tantilising 0.36-seconds away from the runners-up. Attention then turned to the crit race, run off over the same Stevenage course.
After 30-minutes of racing a flurry of attacks resulted in a six-man group going clear.
Rich Handley was at the head of the action for Madison Genesis and with all teams represented, they went on to lap the peloton and contest victory.
Handley finished sixth from that group with Swift, van der Ploeg, Pym and McEvoy sprinting for positions in the peloton.
With two rounds remaining, Madison Genesis sit third in the overall standings, three points behind leaders Canyon Eisberg.
The Tour Series continues in Wembley Park on Tuesday May 29 and concludes in Salisbury on Thursday May 31.
