Tobyn Horton sprinted to third at the Sheffield GP, after making the race-winning break.
After a series of unsuccessful moves were marked by Isaac Mundy and Rich Handley, Horton made the decisive split.
The group of seven went clear at the halfway mark of the hour-long contest and quickly built a good lead.
Despite a concerted chase behind, the peloton failed to make a dent in the leaders’ 40-second lead and as the race entered the final five laps, that buffer only increased.
With nearly a one-minute advantage, Joey Walker (Wiggins) made a solo move that stuck until the end, as Horton sprinted into third place – replicating his result from the same circuit in 2016.
