Tobyn Horton took fourth at the final round of the national circuit series in Colne, following an aggressive team display.
Neil van der Ploeg, Taylor Gunman and Mike Cuming were all involved in early skirmishes, but it took more than half of the race for a break to go clear.
When it did, Isaac Mundy and Horton were part of the move which would decide the race.
Such was the ferocity of the pace until that point, the 12-rider group went clear and lapped what remained of the field in a little over 20-minutes.
With clear air and the race victory assured, a series of attacks peppered the final laps. Horton’s sprint to the line was good enough for fourth, but he was denied a third consecutive podium placing to round out the British criterium season.
