Madison Genesis has selected an eight-man squad for the final round of the British GP Series, the Leicester Castle Classic, taking place on Sunday August 13.
Johnny McEvoy goes into the concluding round of the series in second place, just five points off of the victory.
Sixth overall at the Tour of the Reservoir and fourth at the Stockton GP saw the man from St. Helens wear the leader’s jersey at the Ryedale GP and he will be fighting to take it back in Leicester.
The event will be a contrast to all of those completed so far – just 50-miles on a city-centre circuit, beginning at 10am.
The short laps of a little over two-miles long are set to be raced as a two-hour criterium, with the field strung out from the start.
The flat circuit features a short cobbled section, but it’s the narrow, twisting barrier-lined streets that will define the nature of the race.
The Leicester Castle Classic will be the team’s final domestic race of the year ahead of a week of European competition, in anticipation of the Tour of Britain.
Live updates throughout the race will be available on the team’s official twitter account.
