Connor Swift underlined his supremacy with victory at the Wales Open Crit, just five days after winning the British road championships.
Prominent in all the early attacks, it was no surprise when Swift was part of the race-defining break.
Going clear just before the halfway mark, Swift was part of a group of three rider who moved clear of the peloton.
That was reduced to two men after 40-minutes of racing, and Jon Mould (JLT Condor) would go head-to-head with Swift to decide the outcome.
As their lead became more assured – creeping up to the minute mark with five laps to go – the result was anything but.
Both riders approached the final lap tactically, neither wanting to lose out after an hour of intense effort.
Swift was the strongest though and had time to celebrate another victory in a week to remember for the young talent.
